Lapita Marketing, The Pillar Behind the Brand
While sourcing products and vendors from Fiji for our new online store - The Coastal Basket, we were introduced to Api from the SME community in Suva, Fiji.
It was encouraging to learn of how she supported and promoted small businesses in particular, businesses owned or managed by women & women groups. We were impressed and decided to engage her as one our very first vendors. In doing so, we were able to accomplish our business mission of supporting and sourcing from micro businesses around Fiji. In supporting Api's initiative we in turn, would be providing a new market for the women owned small businesses.
I asked Api to share her mission of her brand and in her own words is the excerpt below.
"My name is Api Kurusiga and I am 64 years old. I work with a women's group and individual women who supply me with their respective products in bulk. A benefit to the rural women around Fiji is where they provide the source of ingredients that are used to make health and wellbeing products and I pack, label and find an outlet to market this range of products.
This is one way of empowering these women financially, allowing them to meet what is needed at their homes, be it education, medical bill or building a shelter. Something that I found is that when women are empowered they grow from strength to strength and become great home makers, leaders and decision makers." ~Api Kurusiga~
Lapita Marketing Enterprises acquires Noni Herbal Tonic, Layalaya Herbal Tonic, Virgin Coconut Oil, Ingredients for Charcoal & Seaweed soap from women's groups.
The Coastal Basket proudly supports Api in empowering women and in enabling financial growth and stability.
